Notes This is an incomplete series of painted magic lantern slides showing the story of a young ship-wrecked boy who grows up amongst the wild landscapes, perhaps eventually captaining his own ship. Slide 1: Numbered 2, boy on donkey with ship wreck in the background. Slide 2: numbered 5, young man encounters monkeys. Slide 3: numbered 6, young man and companion encounter wild buffalo. Slide 4: numbered 10, young man in a kayak defends himself against a giant walrus. Slide 5: numbered 11, young man and a large albatross. Slide 6: numbered 12, ship out to sea with rowing crew (this image is in poor condition). Slide 7: end card with message asking for applause (has broken corner).
